Background

Pocket Queries on the geocaching website send details of the cache locations in a GPX file. Typically, I augment these data with locally generated GPX files which contain, for example, the solutions to puzzle caches. Although it's easy to make something which looks like a GPX file and which loads into the GPSr or Google Earth, the waypoints aren't recognized as Geocaches.

I found this mildly annoying, because the Oregon's geocaching mode seems more convenient than just selecting particular classes of waypoints. Happily the recipe below seems to fix the problem. Obviously YMMV!
